  • -set dbschema -override yes/no [-Server server -Driver driver -DbName db

-UserName user -UserPwd pwd -AdminName admin –AdminPwd adminpwd]

      [-Mailserver mserver]

o    If override is no, the database parameters should not be given

o    If override is yes, the database parameters should be given

o    The mailserver, if specified, is the machine running modus

      •  The default is the local machine

  • -validate dbschema [-Server server -Driver driver -DbName db -UserName user -UserPwd pwd]
    • If the configuration parameters are not given, the validation will be made on the current database configuration

To resolve a missing index problem:

·         Create a new database

·         Import the data from the old database to the new database

·         Change to settings so that modus uses the new database

Example: missing indexes for the quarantine database

There are two options to resolve this problem:

Ø  Option 1: create a new database via the modus Console (recommended)

§  Stop the modus services

§  From the Console, go to System – Properties – System Databases

o    For the Quarantine Database, click on Edit

o    At Database Name, enter the name for the new database and click on OK

o    Confirm that you want to create a new database

·         modus will create the database automatically

§  Use your favorite tool to import the data from the old database to the new one

§  Start the modus services

Ø  Option 2: Create a new database via the database program

§  Create a new database

o    Go to Enterprise Manager or Management Studio

o    Create a new empty database

§  From a Command Prompt, run the DbTool to create the database schema

o    The following is an example (using the abovementioned command line options):

·         DbTool.exe –update qt –Server localhost –Driver SQLServer –DbName newdb –UserName sa –UserPwd as  –xml DbUpdates.xml

§  Stop the modus services

§  Use your favorite tool to import the data from the old database to the new one

§  Change the settings in the Console to point to the new database

o    Go to System – Properties – System Databases

o    Edit the Quarantine Database to point to the newly created database

o    Click on Test Connection to test the connection

§  Start the modus services
