Messages categorized as "Scanning Errors" in the quarantine are never deleted.
Background:
The Scanning Errors (category 12) are never cleaned up from the quarantine.
This category is reserved for errors from the anti-virus engine. If you experience this category of quarantined mail, it could be because of a problem with the virus program or because the message generated an error in the anti-virus engine and could not be scanned. Most of the time, however, it is usually a message that cannot be parsed by the AV engine.
If this becomes a chronic problem, the messages should be taken from the @quarantine\inbox folder, zipped and emailed to us at virustrap@vircom.com.
