Background:
An incorrect configuration of the domain settings on modusGate™ or Microsoft™ Exchange servers may cause some issues while synchronizing mailboxes resulting in quarantine reports being generated more often than expected and the inability to release spam from the report. Mailboxes are deleted during synchronization and are recreated as a new message enters.
Resolution:
On modusGate™, one or many domains are configured as alias while on the Exchange server, they are configured as real domains (or vice versa). Ensure that on both servers, the domains are configured identically and that routes for both the alias and real domains exist on modusGate™.
To resolve this issue temporarily while you reconfigure the domains, make the following change in the Console for the use(s) who reported the problem:
- Go to Users – Preferences – General
- At Settings, enable the Keep this user permanently option
